WATER
The Ica River, the primary source of water for the area, is located in the Department of Ica.
Both underground water reserves and the Ica River are accesible to the Province of Chincha.
Water from irrigation canals and the Ica River are also available to the District of Alto Laran.
CLIMATE
The department of Ica experiences hot, dry summers and moderate winters due to its desert enviroment.
Trought temperatures in the Province of Chincha are a little bit higher, the climate is comparable.
Due to its greater height, the Distric of Alto Laran experiences a little colder temperature that Chincha.
SOILS
The agriculture fields in Alto Laran have deep soils with a sandy or clay-free texture and hight level of organic matter. Most crops can grown well in these soils.
